Heydon Grange rose to the
challenge to secure their first victory in the Mary Cole Rose
Bowl at Royston. A total of 17 teams took part in the 18 hole
team stroke-play competition, with three players per team and
all scores counting towards the team total.
Despite the blustery
conditions all three of the Heydon Grange players returned excellent
scores. Pictured below, Tina Broadley and Dawn Glennie provided a
solid base both with 75s with Captain Ros McKenzie clinching victory
with a round of 74.
The runners-up were Gog
Magog who were represented by Isobel MacLean (nett 79), Aileen
Hewett (nett 72) and Emma Coe (nett 77) for a team score of 228.
The best individual
score of nett 72 was recorded by Aileen Hewett, Liz Bailey (Menzies)
and Helen Gillett (St. Neots) followed by Mary Thompson (Abbotsley)
and Linda Kelsey (Saffron Walden) with nett 73’s.
