On Sun 16th July, the Heydon Grange
men took the field in the Nick Willys Trophy (for over 50s) and the
Linton Trophy (for under 50s). The Nick Willys Trophy saw Steve Lang and
Martin Lane tie for second spot on net 72 but neither could compare to
Steve Miller's net 66 which included a hole-in-one on the par 3 8th of
the Herts course. Meanwhile, in the modified stableford format of the
Linton Trophy, Paul Chamberlain posted an early +5 pts score but was
edged out by Martyn Waring's late round of +10 pts. When awarding prizes
and congratulating Steve Miller on his ace, Club Captain Malcolm
Knobel-Forbes commented that the senior men could still teach their
younger colleagues a thing or two!
