| Last Saturday saw the final
event of the Heydon Grange summer competitions with Graham
Handscombe capping a consistent season by winning the 1st Class
Shoot Out. The top 16 players in Ickelton Lion Order of Merit
qualified for this traditional season ending competition. After the morning stableford round those left in the field were Chris Collinson, David Jolley, Steve Miller, John Black and Handscombe. The final 4 hole shoot out saw the runaway winner of the Order of Merit Collinson exit on the first hole quickly followed by David Jolley on the 2nd and John Black on the 3rd. This left the Club Champion Miller and Handscombe to play the difficult short par 3 4th on the Essex course. Handscombe prevailed after 3 halves which included a number trips to the water. |
