Mark Lewis (right)
secured a thrilling victory in the Heydon Masters
beating Ken Harvey in a 4-hole play-off over the Essex
1-4. Both tied on one over net after 36 holes, Mark
raced into an early play-off lead just missing eagle
from 2 feet whilst Ken amassed an 8 courtesy of a visit
to the water. This margin proved impossible to recover
from - particularly with Mark sending a driver onto the
fringe of the Essex 4th to set up par and level par
gross for the four play-off holes overall.
This is the first year that the same player has won both prestigious events for low handicappers - the Masters and Club Championship |
