WOW!!!
Just a quick note to thank the members, guests and Heydon Grange
Management who contributed so generously to Captains Charity day
yesterday. In conditions that again defied the weather forecasters you
have achieved a fabulous result in raising a record breaking £1,500.00
towards the funds of our two charities; Ataxia and Air Ambulance. Your
Captains are very grateful.
Winners for the day in the Senior’s section were Roy Bell (11) on
count-back from Seniors Captain Ron Webster (12) with 39 points, Nearest
the Pin went to Ron Webster and Ray Clarke achieved the longest Drive.
The Ladies section was won by Helen Leigh (pictured below with the
Captains) with an astonishing 46 points giving her a deserved 4 shot cut
of her handicap; reducing her handicap by 10 shots so far this season.
Second place went to Sue Slater (29) with 41 points and third to Tammini
Hurst (21) with 39 points. The Ladies guest prize went to Mo Webster (5)
on count-back from Val Barrett (29) with 34 points.
Matthew Barrett (19) secured the Junior prize with 39 points from Adam
McKenzie (27) with 34 points.
The Mens section was won by Ian Brushett (4) with an astonishing 41
points from Andy Sawford (10) on 39 points and Roger Brigham (9) third
with 38 points. Ian Brushett also won the Longest drive and Mike Desmond
Nearest the pin. Mervin Aho (9) took the Men’s guest prize with 41
points. David Brewer (14) took second prize from Brian Cousins (24) on
count back with 36 points.
Winners of the team prize went to Ian Brushett, Andy Sawford Paul Carter
and Barry Carter.
