Last Sunday's Lucy &
Natalie Godfrey Memorial Trophy has one of the more unusual formats
for competitions held at Heydon Grange every year. All players play
27 holes (the Essex, Cambs and Herts nine hole courses) then the 18
holes to determine the winner are decided by removing one nine-hole
course drawn by lot. This year, the last two nines (the Cambs and
Herts courses) were the selected ones so it was those competitors
with the greatest staying power who came out on top. David Jolley
scored 40 stableford pts to take the men's title whilst ladies
honours went to Dawn Glennie with 38 pts.
Ladies:
- Dawn Glennie 38 pts
- Roz McKenzie 37 pts
- Tina Broadley 36 pts
Men:
- David Jolley 40 pts
- Derek Moatt 36 pts
- Mike Barker, Paul Chamberlain and Mark Kierstan 33 pts
