Heydon Grange has a regular influx of new members. Here we provide answers to the top questions that all new members tend to ask.
Q: How do I get an official club handicap?
A: Either provide our Handicap Secretaries with a certificate from your previous club or, if you do not have one, enter three cards for 18 hole rounds signed by a committee member or member authorised by the committee. If you have any difficulties finding a member to act as marker, please contact the relevant handicap secretary, who will be please to assist. If you had an official handicap at a previous club but many years ago, this information MUST be provided to the handicap secretary with the three cards and will be taken into consideration when a handicap is assigned.
Q: Where do I find out what is going on?
A: See the club notice board, this web-site or ask a committee member. In the club house you will find copies of the members Fixtures Booklet. This provides details of all programmed events throughout the year, details of competitions (including rules), officers of the club plus telephone numbers for all members.
Q: How do I enter a competition?
A: For Men's and Mixed competitions, you need to enter your name on the ClubV1 system and submit your entry fee before the closing date. You will then be entered into the draw. You must have a valid handicap to enter any competition.
Q: Do I need to book tee-times?
A: In drawn competitions, tee-times will be arranged for you. At all other times, it is highly advisable to book a tee-time in advance. At weekends, Members reserved tee-times are 8:30 - 10:00 - but you will still need to book. All players MUST report to the pro shop prior to playing.
